Home Away from Home
At Master’s, students are our number
one priority. “Home Away From
Home” is Master’s way of helping
you settle in to college life. As you
anticipate your stay with us, we want you
to know that we will do our best to provide
you with the little extras that will make
your transition to college life as smooth
as possible.

| “I love the community
among students and staff. The staff
come and hang out in the lounge
and are concerned about our lives.
It is really nice to know that
we have people always looking out
for us.” |
|
Our faculty, staff and students are always
available to help answer any questions or
concerns that you or your parents may have
about the college, including finding a place
to live or getting around Toronto.
Some highlights of our Home Away From
Home initiative include:
- Free airport pick-up for out-of-province
students on request.
- Move in help from faculty/staff/students
on the Saturday or Sunday of Labour Day
weekend upon request for out-of-province
students.
- A $10.00 long-distance phone card for
out-of-province students upon arrival at
the campus.
- “Ride Guide” schedules
and information on Toronto Transit System.
- Gift bag and information about the college
upon arrival at the campus
- Informal orientation and personal care
from the Student Council and Director of
Student Development on Labour Day Monday.
- Fun
events planned for the first week to
help you get to know Master’s “family.”
- A copy of the Student Development
Guidelines and round-table discussions
at Orientation.
- Opportunity for questions, concerns and
discussions at Orientation week.
- Fall Retreat during the 2nd weekend in
September (September 13-14). This is always
a highlight!

| “The first time we
ever entered the doors of Master’s,
not knowing what to expect having
been DE, everyone in the room
came and introduced themselves
to us. We felt so welcomed and
a part of the student community
life there. I have made so many
friends and made so many memories.
Master’s is not an institution,
it’s a place to belong – Master’s
is a good family!” |

We understand that going
to college in a big city may not always
be the easiest transition for students,
but we will do our best to make the transition
as smooth as possible. Parents, we want
you to have confidence and peace of mind
knowing that Master’s Home
Away from Home is committed, not only
to providing excellence in academics, but
also to providing much personal care while
your son or daughter is away from you.
