Obtaining a Transcript
An “official” transcript is a confidential academic record of all completed courses and/or courses that are in process, which is issued by the Registrar’s Office and bears the seal of the institution, as well as the signature of the Registrar. All official transcripts are sent in sealed envelopes with “Contains Official Transcripts” stamped on the envelope. If someone, other than the intended recipient, opens the envelope the transcript may not be considered “official”.
An “Issued to Student” transcript contains the same academic information as an official transcript but it is not on transcript paper, and doesn’t have the official seal of the institution or the signature of the Registrar. It is generally requested by a student who wants a record of their academic history when an official transcript is not required. There is no cost for issuing an “Issued to Student Transcript”.
To request a transcript (Official or Issued to Student), a Transcript Request Form must be submitted in person, by mail, fax (705-749-0417) or email (scanned and attached). Telephone requests, or requests in the body of an email for transcripts, are not accepted.
Processing time for transcripts is generally within three – five business days during non-peak periods. During peak periods (i.e. at beginning of a semester or around graduation), it may take five – ten business days to process a Transcript Request Form. No transcripts will be issued for students who have an outstanding account.
